एक अध्ययन के मुताबिक कूड़ा बीनने वालों में 80 फीसदी संख्या महिलाओं की है और ये सब महिलाएं दलित समुदाय से सम्बन्ध रखती है, जैसे कहा जाता है कि सारे दलित तो सफाई कर्मचारी नहीं है परन्तु सभी सफाई कर्मचारी दलित ही है। भारत में कोई महिला या पुरुष अपने काम की वजह से सफाई कर्मचारी नहीं है बल्कि वह अपने जन्म के कारण सफाई कर्मचारी है, भले ही वह ये काम करना चाहती/चाहता हो या नहीं । यहां यह सब जाति और पितृसत्तात्मक सोच के कारण है।

India’s growing economy needs 103 million skilled workers between 2017-2022. Yet, over 100 million Indian youth (15-29 years) are not in education, employment or training (NEET), of which around 88.5 million are young women. Achievements of Women in Paralympics 2020

The Paralympic Games, governed by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) concluded on 5th September. Tokyo 2020 was the biggest Paralympic Games ever with a record number of athletes. In this edition, female participation was at an all-time high. In total 1,853 female athletes competed at Tokyo 2020 beating the previous record of 1,671 women that competed at Rio 2016 – this is a 10.9 per cent increase.

No Concrete Investigation In ‘Sulli Deals Matter’, Two Months After Several Muslim Women Were Auctioned Online

The news of the Delhi police cyber cell registering FIR against an app for sharing pictures of women without their consent, had given some hope, that the wheels of justice, though slow, do turn afterall. It had taken several women, following up with the Delhi Commission of Women (DCW) and Swati Maliwal, as chairperson of DCW summoning the DCP of the Delhi Police Cyber Cell, for the FIRs to be eventually filed against several unnamed persons. A complaint was also filed by the National Commission of Women. A notice was also sent to the web platform that hosted this app – GitHub.
