Author of 66 crime novels, 6 non-criminal novels, 150 short stories and whose career spanned more than five decades, Agatha Christie is undoubtedly the Doyenne of Murder Mysteries. With more than 2 billion books published, she is outsold only by the Bible and Shakespeare. Her books have been published in over 100 languages, making her the most translated writer of all time. She wrote the world’s longest-running play, ‘The Mousetrap’, which was performed in the West End from 1952 to 2020. As if mysteries were embedded in her DNA, she wrote six novels under the pseudonym Mary Westmacott. In 1971, she was made a Dame (DBE) for her contributions to literature.
